Governor's Award for International Trade Excellence:

The Kentucky World Trade Center invites your company to apply for the 2010 Governor's Award for International Trade Excellence.

The Kentucky World Trade Center’s GAITE award is the first international trade award given by the Governor of Kentucky. Formerly known as the World Trade Success award, this prestigious honor recognizes Kentucky companies successfully engaged in international trade. The Awards Committee is made up of KWTC staff and various representatives from the business community who work to identify the very best international trade success stories to be spotlighted at an annual awards luncheon.

Each year, over 400 representatives from business, industry and government sectors gather to recognize firms for outstanding achievements in international trade at the World Trade Day Awards Luncheon. Organized by the Kentucky World Trade Center, the luncheon has become the Commonwealth’s largest annual gathering of international trade professionals. This year’s program will be held on September 1, 2010 at the Marriot Griffin Gate in Lexington, Kentucky, and will also include a delegation of foreign dignitaries assembled to speak to attendees about doing business with their respective countries.

Recent winners include Link-Belt Construction Equipment Company, Phoenix Process Equipment Company and Zoeller Company. This year’s winners will be recognized and celebrated for their outstanding international trade achievements, and will be presented with trophies at the awards luncheon.

We will have Suresh Kumar, Assistance Secretary to the US Department of Commerce, as the keynote speaker at the luncheon, and Governor Beshear has been invited to deliver an address regarding the State of World Trade in Kentucky.
There are no fees or obligations associated with selection as an award recipient. We ask only that the winning companies plan to have a representative attend the awards luncheon on September 1, 2010 and that they agree to allow media coverage of their summarized success stories, and that they attend the press conference taking place before the luncheon program.
